Will Hoge @ Windjammer

Live music usually comes with fancy lighting and even some elaborate light shows, but when it comes to ‘feeling’ the band, I think black and white best captures the pure emotion the artists put into their shows.  Many of my favorite concert photos I’ve taken were shot specifically with the intent in mind for them to be viewed in b&w.

Thanks to Will & the gang for letting me shoot from the green room at the Windjammer.  In the front row, to the right of the monitors, you can see my ‘hole’ that Elizabeth was saving for me.  You can also see my buddy, Michael (the bald guy) in the front.

You’ll find several photos like this in my portfolio.  The answer is no, I do not have a foot fetish.  I do however think it’s fascinating to see what bands are sporting on their feet.  I’ve seen boots, bare feet, Chuck Taylors, even shoes held together with duct tape.

Red lights at a concert are the enemy of every concert photographer.  I decided to make it work for me here and ended up with one of my favorite shots from the weekend.
